Driver arrested for fatal truck accident that killed 2

Federal marshals have arrested a truck driver for his involvement in a six-vehicle accident approximately a year ago that ended the lives of two people and injured a number of others. The fiery collision has resulted in charges of criminal recklessness, reckless homicide and involuntary manslaughter being lodged against the trucker. Officers summoned to the scene of the accident were confronted with shattered glass and the debris from the trucker's semi, as well as two SUVs and three cars scattered on the highway and surrounding area.

Police sued for abandoning man before car accident

Ohio police officers are being sued by the family of a man who died in a highway accident when he was struck by a passing vehicle as he walked along a highway. An unusual aspect of the lawsuit is that the officers were not driving the vehicle that struck and hit the man. Instead, what happened is that they found the man, allegedly in an intoxicated condition, sitting in his truck, which he had pulled over into a grass median. They put him in their vehicle.

Couple will sue doctor in alleged forceps-caused brain injury

Anytime an individual submits to medical procedures, he or she is putting a lot of trust and faith in medical staff. During a pregnancy, the mother is trusting both her own safety and that of her unborn child to doctors, nurses and others. After the death of their days-old child, one couple is alleging that a preventable birth injury occurred due to a doctor's actions.

If you have to go through surgery or other procedures, you may be worried about accidents taking place. In this case, a medical error may have led to a woman suffering hot flashes, among other problems, and it led to her needing more surgeries due to complications. According to the news, a surgical glove was found in her abdominal cavity. Ohioans might be interested in knowing that the woman is now claiming medical negligence, and she's asking for compensatory damages.

Child dies from appendicitis, brain injury while on vacation

Accidents happen and sometimes injuries result. However, when a hospital visit for appendicitis gives a 6-year-old girl a fatal brain injury, negligence is one of the words commonly used. Ohio readers may have heard of this shocking story that begins in the Dominican Republic. The family was on vacation when the daughter contracted appendicitis that required surgery. While the family insurance policy reportedly allowed a medical jet to take her back to the US, the insurer initially refused to provide one, according to the lawsuit.

Woman's wrongful death leads to negligence charges for Regency

In Ohio, medical negligence is taken seriously. If you have lost a loved one due to medical malpractice, it's important that you know you're not alone in this trying time. There are steps you can take to make sure this won't happen to anyone else, and you may be able to seek compensation that will help you with extraneous bills and financial hardships due to your loved one's death. If you've been keeping up with the national news, you might have heard about the Regency owners being hit with a negligence charge in relation to a 50-year-old woman's death. Her surviving husband and daughter have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Nexion Health Systems, which owns Regency Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Clarksville, Texas.
