Alleged medical malpractice leads to wrongful death in Ohio

If medical necessities arise, you want to trust that your doctors will care for you correctly. In this wrongful death case, one man is dead, and it may be due to his doctors being negligent. According to the story, the Trumbull County Court in Ohio is now dealing with the case.

According to the news release from Jan. 17, a military solider had come home from the service with emotional and physical injuries. His family claims that after he left the Veterans' Clinic, he started to see two doctors in Champion in 2009. The 25-year-old was allegedly suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and had symptoms of depression. The 25-year-old soldier and son killed himself in Aug. 2009.

He was prescribed medications, according to the story, but now the court is asking why the doctors hadn't prescribed psychiatric treatment for the man. The doctors in this case are arguing that they never could have predicted the man's suicide, even with the knowledge that he was depressed and had PTSD. They claim that no matter what the treatment was, they couldn't have prevented the suicide or even predicted that it was something that would happen.

In this kind of case, taking an extra step to make sure a patient is of sound mind and body could have saved one person's life. If you've found yourself dealing with the loss of a loved one due to medical errors or negligence, you might want to consider seeking legal help. There are steps you can take to make sure these negligent acts won't happen again, and you may be able to seek compensation.
