Driver with history of Ohio car accidents causes fatal crash

There are some drivers who just shouldn't be allowed to drive because their driving history shows a string of negligence. This seems to be the case for a driver who recently caused an accident that killed a 62-year-old man. That driver has a history of causing Ohio car accidents.

The driver had two citations for violations of assured clear distance laws in 2010 and 2011. He also has a current civil lawsuit pending against him for an accident that occurred in 2012. In that case, he rear-ended a man in a severe collision that he claims was because of a sudden emergency. The accident was so bad that the negligent driver had to be extricated from his vehicle, which took around 30 minutes.

In the most recent case, this seemingly negligent driver didn't stop at a red light and slammed into a vehicle. The driver of that vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident. Speed is considered a factor in the accident.

This fatal crash wasn't the negligent driver's first accident of the day. Authorities say that prior to the fatal crash, the man rear-ended a vehicle and left the scene of that accident.

The deceased man's brother isn't pleased with the consequences the man who killed his brother faces. The driver was charged with felony aggravated vehicular homicide, which carries a prison sentence of one to five years and a fine of up to $10,000. The deceased man's brother says the he is counting on the Lord, the laws and the government to ensure justice is served despite the light consequence the driver faces.

The defendant in this case might also face civil action from the deceased man's family. They have the right to seek compensation for their loss, including the man's final expenses.
