Ohio motorcycle accident sends 1 person to hospital

Every day throughout Ohio, people jump on their motorcycle for a number of reasons. Some people commute on their bike to and from work, while others are simply on the road enjoying their life. However, motorcycles are often involved in accidents and with tragic results. A recent accident in Aberdeen has left one motorcyclist injured.

According to an Aberdeen police officer, a motorcyclist and truck were traveling east on U.S. 52, on a stretch where there are two lanes of traffic. The officer noted that the truck driver was unaware that the motorcycle was driving beside him.

When the truck attempted to make a left turn, it struck the motorcycle. Following the accident, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Aberdeen LifeSquad came to the scene.

The officer said, "At first they called for a helicopter but it was initially headed to the Mason County accident. The EMTs determined [the victim] could be taken to the hospital by ambulance."

There is no information regarding the condition of the motorcyclist taken to the hospital for injuries. At this time, an officer for the Aberdeen Police Department is investigating the details of the accident.

This is one of those Ohio motorcycle accidents that could have been avoided had the driver of the truck been aware that the motorcyclist was traveling next to him. Unfortunately, this was not the case.

In the event that a driver's negligence leads to a motor vehicle accident, the victim has the right to consider his or her legal options in the future. Before that, however, the victim must receive the appropriate medical care without delay.
