Subaru issues recall, cars in Ohio affected

A number of different factors can lead to an Ohio car accident, including the negligence of a driver, drinking and driving and of course, a defective vehicle.

Many automakers have found themselves in the news this year for defective auto parts that increase the chance of an accident. While General Motors has been at the forefront of the industry for the millions of vehicles it has recalled, Subaru has recently done the same.

The automaker is recalling approximately 660,000 cars and SUVs as the result of brake lines that have the potential to rust and leak. If this happens, the vehicle would have a more difficult time stopping. This is the second recall for half of the vehicles, showing that this is a major problem that Subaru is concerned about.

The vehicles impacted include 2009 through 2013 Forester models, 2008 through 2014 Impreza models and 2005 through 2009 Legacy models.

The recalled vehicles were either registered or sold in states in which salt is used to clear snow and ice in the winter. In addition to Ohio, other states include Wisconsin, West Virginia, Vermont, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Missouri, Minnesota, Michigan, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Delaware, Connecticut and Washington, D.C.

Ohio car accidents caused by a defective part, such as this one, can be avoided. Not only should automakers immediately recall any vehicle that is known to have a problem, but consumers must take note of this and visit their dealer for a repair.

In the event of a car accident caused by a defective product, the victim or their family may file a lawsuit to receive compensation. This is what GM is dealing with at the present time.
