Car accidents can happen for any number of reasons, but when somebody acts in a negligent manner, it is more difficult for those involved to understand.
While some Ohio car accidents only involve a couple of vehicles and a couple of people, others are much more serious. A recent multi-vehicle accident in Marion has killed three people and sent 11 others to the hospital for treatment. While all of these people are expected to survive their injuries, they must still deal with the physical and emotional impact of the accident.
According to authorities, the incident began on Delaware Avenue and Executive Drive at approximately 4 p.m. It was at that time that a 41-year-old man hit another car and then drove from the scene. From there, he crashed into four cars that were parked at an intersection.
As a result of the accident, two vehicles were engulfed by flames, with three people who were trapped in one of the vehicles dying.
A witness said, “The fire, just never saw a fire like that, such big explosions of fire. I couldn’t believe, you know, this is something you see on TV you don’t see out on Delaware Avenue.”
The exact cause of the accident is under investigation.
Most Ohio car accidents do not end like this; however, you never know when something bad is going to happen. One driver made the mistake of colliding with multiple vehicles, thus leading to three deaths and multiple injuries. Furthermore, the man could face criminal charges as well as the chance of one or more victims filing a civil lawsuit.
