Truck accident kills 2 and severely injures 2

A truck driver who rear-ended a motorist in Ohio earlier in the year in a "road rage" incident has now been involved in a truck accident that left two people dead and two people severely injured. His semi-truck hit another truck, as well as four pedestrians and another pickup that was parked on the side of the road.

The truck driver claims to have no memory of the accident. The two dead were a man and his grandson. One man is now missing part of one of his legs as a result of the crash and another was hospitalized with severe wounds.

Ohio truck accidents often cause death or injuries to other motorists, passengers, pedestrians and bicycle riders. The 53-year-old trucker involved in the immediate accident was questioned by police after it occurred, but could contribute little to their investigation because of his apparent lapse of memory. He was given a number of citations for unsafely moving between lanes.

The investigation into the specific causes of the accident are continuing. At this time, there are no clear indications whether drug use, alcohol intoxication, speeding or fatigue played any role. In the earlier "road rage" incident, he another driver reportedly engaged in an exchange of hostile words over the CB radio prior to the crash.

Persons injured in the accident and the surviving families of those who died could pursue personal injury and wrongful death claims against the truck driver, as well as his employer if he was not self-employed. It is important after such an accident to quickly consult with an experienced personal injury attorney to make sure that all such claims are presented in a timely and proper manner.
