Ohio truck accident lands 2 in hospital

Every day, trucks travel throughout the state of Ohio for a variety of reasons. Some of these trucks are on the highway and others are on suburban and city streets. Regardless of where they are traveling, the chance of an accident always exists. According to Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers, a truck caught fire on Interstate 75, north of Tylersville Road, which led to two people being taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police reported that the driver of a tractor-trailer lost control in the northbound lane of the interstate, which led to him hitting the center median and overturning in the southbound lanes. As a result, his truck caught fire.

A witness who was driving behind the truck at the time said, "We were in the far left lane and the truck came over two lanes, I don't know what caused it to come over but thank goodness I looked up and saw it but his cab was actually facing the wall and his trailer was straight and he just slammed into the wall."

A volunteer firefighter and witness were able to pull the truck driver to safety before the vehicle caught fire.

Three other vehicles were involved in the accident, including a driver in the southbound lane. He was transported to West Chester for the treatment of injuries.

Even though some Ohio truck accidents are more serious than this one, it does not change the fact that a truck driver made a poor decision on the road that put many people in harm's way and landed him, as well as another person, in the hospital.

Those who are injured in similar accident may want to consider seeking compensation for their losses and damages. The claims may be filed against the semi-truck driver and his or her employer, depending on the circumstances of the accident.
