Man charged in Ohio motorcycle accident

Every year throughout the state of Ohio, people are involved in motorcycle accidents. Some make a mistake while on their bike, leading to injury or death. Others, however, are involved in an accident when the driver of another vehicle acts in a negligent manner.

A 38-year-old man has been charged by police with aggravated vehicular homicide in connection with a motorcycle accident that killed a 58-year-old man in Middletown.

According to police, the man was driving a Ford Explorer when his SUV crossed over the centerline. At that point, he struck the victim's Harley Davidson motorcycle head on. As a result, the man was ejected from the bike. Ohio State Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and pronounced the man dead.

Court records for the driver of the Explorer show that he has been charged 19 times, most recently for disorderly conduct.

This type of story shows the damage that can be caused when a passenger vehicle collides with a motorcycle. Due to the size difference, as well as the fact that the motorcyclist does not have any protection around him or her, the final result is almost always serious injury or death.

Police continue to do their part in protecting motorcyclists against accidents, but there is nothing they can do to put an end to this type of behavior.

If a people are injured in motorcycle accidents, they have legal rights. The same holds true for the family of anybody who is killed in such an accident. An injured victim or one's family may want to learn more about their rights by speaking with an attorney.
