Are there car safety features meant to prevent brain injury?

Preventing a motor vehicle accident is not always simple. Even if you are driving in a cautious manner, doing whatever possible to remain safe, it doesn't mean that others are going to do the same. Instead, a mistake by another driver, no matter what type, could cause an accident.

For this reason, it is important to drive a vehicle with advanced safety features. There are many features that are meant to prevent brain injury, which is common in motor vehicle accidents.

Some of these many features include:

-- Adjustable head restraints. Whiplash is a common concern in an auto accident, often leading to neck and head injuries. With an adjustable restraint, such injuries can be avoided in the event of a rear end collision.

-- Airbags. In addition to front impact airbags, vehicles with side airbags can help prevent a brain injury.

-- Crumple zones. There are certain areas of the car that are designed to crumple in an accident. This ensures that the energy is absorbed by the vehicle, not the passengers. Research this before purchasing a vehicle.

There are many car safety features meant to prevent injuries, such as those to the brain and spinal cord. While there is no way to guarantee you won't be injured in an accident, it is best to do whatever you can do minimize the damage to your body.

Anything you can do to prevent brain injury is something you should consider. If you are involved in an accident, a particular feature of your vehicle may help you avoid serious injury.
