Man runs stop sign on Ohio 603, kills 1, injures others

Stop signs and other traffic signals serve a very important purpose. When drivers ignore stop signs and other similar items, they might end up causing an accident that can lead to injuries or death. An accident along Ohio 13 is one example of how horrible an accident caused by running a stop sign can be.

The accident happened around 8:10 p.m., when a 46-year-old man driving a Ford F-150 ran the stop sign where Ohio 13 meets Ohio 603. He slammed into a Pontiac G6. The impact sent both vehicles off the road. The F-150 hit a stop sign and the G6 hit a tree. The 72-year-old male driver of that G6 was killed in the accident.

The fatal accident also resulted in some injuries. A 3-year-old boy, 46-year-old woman, and the driver of the F-150 were injured. Those injuries weren't considered life-threatening. A passenger in the G6, a 69-year-old woman, had to be air lifted to Akron City Hospital.

The seemingly simple decision to bypass a stop sign caused this horrible accident. The driver of the F-150 seems to have acted in a negligent manner that put his life and the lives of others at risk. Now, one man is gone and others were hurt because of his actions.

Anyone who is hurt in an accident and anyone who has lost a loved one in an accident have the right to seek compensation. Knowing the legal aspects of seeking compensation can help you know what you need to do. Being prepared can help you move through the process a little smoother.
