How do you do a health check after an accident?

Categories: Uncategorized

If you are involved in a motor vehicle accident, there is nothing more important than completing a health check. In other words, you want to make sure that you were not seriously injured in the accident.

It is easy to believe that you are uninjured, but you will not know for sure until you take the right steps. Immediately following the accident, here are four things you need to do:

— Check yourself for any and all injuries. If you are seriously injured, such as a broken bone, it won’t take much to realize it. However, make sure you are also aware of other injuries, even those that may not appear for several hours.

— Are your passengers okay? Once you check yourself, ask your passengers how they are feeling. If somebody is injured, do your best to provide immediate assistance.

— Get to safety. As long as it is safe to move your car from the scene, pull to the side of the road.

— Wait for professional help. Turn on your hazard lights and wait for the police and/or an ambulance to arrive. It is better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your injuries.

These are just a few of the things you can do to conduct a thorough health check after a motor vehicle accident. If you don’t do this, you could miss out on an injury that requires the attention of a professional. And remember this: The sooner you have an injury checked the better chance you have of avoiding long term trouble.
