After the national attention the Tracy Morgan accident received because of the injury to Morgan and the death of his fellow comedian, one would think that truck drivers would make sure they aren’t taking their rigs out on the roadways when they are tired. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. A recent semi-truck accident in Ohio is being blamed on a sleeping driver.
The accident happened along Interstate 70 when a semi-truck rammed into the back of another semi-truck. The semi-truck that was hit was parked alongside the interstate. After the impact of the semi-truck accident, the first semi-truck rolled into a ditch and caught on fire.
The driver in the parked truck was in the sleeper compartment of the truck when the accident happened. He was pinned in that area and was rescued by a firefighter.
The driver of the semi-truck that slammed into the parked semi-truck says that he was trying to avoid hitting another car. People who witnessed the accident beg to differ with that trucker.
The man who was pinned in the sleeper of the parked semi-truck was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was hospitalized. The other trucker wasn’t harmed in the accident.
While this accident was between two semi-trucks, it shows the potential severity of the accidents involving these large trucks. For people who were involved in Ohio truck accidents, injuries can be costly. Not only do the victims have to deal with injuries, they also have to deal with the monetary damages. For them, seeking compensation for those damages might bring some relief.
