What are the warning symptoms of a serious brain injury?


Nobody wants to suffer an injury to any part of his or her body. This is particularly true when it comes to the brain. Unfortunately, if you are involved in an accident, there is a chance that you could suffer a serious brain injury. Furthermore, this could change your life forever, calling for many years of treatment and follow-up medical care.

In some cases, the symptoms of a serious brain injury present right away. However, this is not always the case. There are times when a brain injury doesn’t show immediately, meaning that you can be tricked into thinking that everything is okay.

Here are some of the most common warning signs of this injury:

— Confusion, such as not knowing where you are or your own name.

— Unusually sluggish.

— Severe headache often accompanied by nausea and vomiting.

— Weakness or numbness, especially on one side of the body.

Since a serious brain injury can remain dormant, don’t hesitate to seek medical attention following an accident. You may find that you didn’t injure your brain, but it’s better to be safe than sorry when it comes to a potentially fatal injury.
