When you or a loved one visits a doctor or hospital for care, you expect to receive the best treatment possible. Sadly, that doesn’t always happen. One Ohio woman is suing the Cleveland Clinic, the North Ohio Heart Center and a doctor for the death of her husband.
She claims that the doctor who treated her husband from Dec. 12, 2011 to Dec. 21, 2011 were negligent in their care for the man who underwent coronary artery surgery on Dec. 13 of that year. The lawsuit claims that the man passed away because of the negligence of the institutions and doctor.
The wrongful death lawsuit claims the family has had to deal with the loss of companionship, protection, guidance, advice and several other losses. It further claims the man incurred expenses during his final days. It lists several family members that the lawsuit is being filed on behalf of, including a mother, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sons, daughters, a brother and sisters.
The lawsuit against the institutions and doctor requests a trial. The family is requesting damages of more than $25,000. The North Ohio Heart Center wasn’t available to comment on the claims.
If you have lost a loved one due to negligence on the part of a medical professional or medical institution, you might have the right to seek compensation for damages related to the loss. Speaking with an experienced Ohio attorney well-versed in wrongful death claims can help you to determine what types, if any, of compensation you might be entitled to. These professionals can also help to guide you through the legal process of trying to claim that compensation for damages.
